On Tuesday 12th March, we set off to Kingston Lacy CL on a visit to my stepfather in a nursing home in Christchurch. Not for the first time we have chosen this National Trust CL as an attractive site which is also helpfully close to Christchurch. The National Trust have opened a couple of sites in recent years, this one and one at Stourhead. Both are well worth a visit and provide ready access to the grounds.
We spent a pleasant couple of days visiting my stepfather, travelling to Poole for a look around and walking around the delightful parkland at Kingston Lacy whilst also touring the house itself. It seems that we managed to find a weather window as though cool it remained dry and the temperature failed to drop below freezing which was a blessing.
As an added bonus the snowdrops were still out though rapidly coming to the end of the season.
After three days we set off for home. The weather had sadly now changed and it was a wet journey back to Chelmsford which left the motorhome in a sad state.
